Last year Parris Campbell gave his heart and soul to his beloved Buckeye brothers. His strong, vocal leadership and outstanding performances powered Ohio State to another Big Ten Title and a Rose Bowl victory.
Campbell hauled in 90 receptions for 1,063 yards and a team high twelve touchdowns. His biggest game of the season came in The Game on the biggest of stages in Columbus. He caught six passes from Dwayne Haskins and turned those receptions into 192 yards and two scores.

Now that Campbell’s eligibility is complete, it is time to scan the depth chart and find the next man up. Who will be the next Buckeye to fill the shoes of Buckeye great Parris Campbell and will this player even be able to accomplish the feat?
It will certainly be easier said than done because he will have to catch Campbell’s blazing shoes first anyway. Parris one of the fastest players in Ohio State history and he proved that to be true with a 4.31 40-yard dash at the 2019 NFL Combine.
Filling his shoes next year will default to fellow Wide Receiver KJ Hill. There was wide speculation Hill may also declare for the NFL Draft this year, but like many of his teammates he decided to return to school for another year.
Hill certainly possesses all of the intangibles to be the Buckeyes’ top target in 2019 with transfer Quarterback Justin Fields at the helm. Though Hill is not as fast as Campbell, an area Justin Fields will take care of, he was arguably the most sure-handed receiver on the team.
KJ also runs his routes with precision while being able to make sharp cuts to shake defenders. These qualities, with even more development, will surely make him a favorite target of Fields early on and throughout the season.
Expect a 1,000+ yard output from Hill this upcoming season in hopes of leading Ohio State back to Indianapolis and beyond.
