It was thought by many the New York Giants would choose Dwayne Haskins with the No. 6 pick to take over for aging QB Eli Manning at some point next season. But when general manager Dave Gettleman traded Odell Beckham Jr. he now has other options.

Here are a couple of scenarios where Haskins could move down in the draft order because of the trade.

First, the Arizona Cardinals may be interested in parting ways with QB Josh Rosen who they took with the No 10 pick in last year’s draft. He didn’t have a stellar rookie season but the Giants may be interested in making a trade for him saving the No. 6 pick to fill another need and still get a QB.

After the OBJ trade they have the capital to do so because they received the Browns’ first round pick at 17. If they don’t want to go that direction they may wait to see if Drew Lock or Daniel Jones is available at that spot.

If Haskins isn’t drafted by the Giants he will probably slip out of the top 10. CBSSports.com has him going to the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 11. The Miami Dolphins also need a quarterback and have the 13th pick.

There is still a long way to go before draft day so anything can happen between now and then. There will be plenty of scouts and general managers at Ohio State’s Pro Day, and once they see the Buckeye QB spin the ball there may be teams attempt to move up to grab him.

If one of those teams is successful in doing so, I have a feeling they will be glad they did. Dwayne Haskins has all the tools to be a successful NFL quarterback.
