Nebraska ran into an inspired Michigan team on Thursday looking to stay in contention for a Big Ten regular season title, and as a result lost in a major fashion by the score of 82-53. Sophomore Nana Akenten led the Cornhuskers with 11 points.

What looked like a promising season for Nebraksa has quickly faded to a 15-15 overall record.

Northwestern lost their 9th and 10th games in a row in week 18 and for that remain last in these power rankings. The first lost came to Minnesota, 62-50 as Derek Pardon led the team with 16 points on 6 of 11 shooting.

The second defeat came at the hands of in state rival Illinois 81-76. Northwestern’s postseason hopes are now long gone and will be playing for pride to end the season.
