Chris Holtmann has done an excellent job on the recruiting trail as head coach of the Ohio State basketball team. Now that the 2023 recruiting class is on campus and getting ready for the upcoming season, Holtmann is now focused on building the 2024 class.

Three-star in-state small forward, Colin White, is now the latest recruit that has committed to play for Holtmann at Ohio State. White is the No. 115 overall prospect according to 247Sports, and the 26th ranked small forward. He’s also ranked fourth in the state of Ohio in the 2024 class, the first to commit to Ohio State.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound wing received an offer from Ohio State on July 20th and committed not even a month later. White chose the Buckeyes over Northwestern, Butler, TCU, and Cincinnati.

White is a very versatile wing with a high basketball IQ that can do pretty much everything on the floor. He’s excellent at scoring on all three levels with a smooth jump shot and a soft touch around the rim. White also isn’t afraid to orchestrate the offense as a point forward.

On the defensive side of the ball, White will help bring the Buckeyes a lot of energy to that end of the floor. With his frame and athleticism, he’s capable of guarding positions one through three on defense. It’s always an extra boost to have a player that can guard multiple positions.

White joins four-star point guard, John Mobley Jr., as the second member of the 2024 recruiting class to commit to the Ohio State basketball team. With the commitment from White, the Buckeyes now have the 16th-ranked recruiting class in the country.

We all know Holtmann is malicious on the recruiting trail as he’s had back-to-back loaded classes filled with talented recruits. I would be shocked if White is the last recruit added for 2024 when it’s all said and done.
