With the NFL Combine quickly approaching, let’s look at which Ohio State players will be participating and what it means for the football program.
In just under one week, the NFL Combine will begin once again at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. When roughly 300 of the most talented college football players take the practice field, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be well-represented.
With 10 players invited from last years team the Buckeyes will have a chance to show not only why they should be drafted high, but also why Ohio State continues to be an NFL factory.
At the NFL Combine, the Buckeyes will show their continued dominance of the defensive line (Nick Bosa and Dre’Mont Jones) and talent of the defensive backfield in cornerback Kendall Sheffield. They will also be represented by three game-changing Wide Receivers in Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon, and Terry McLaurin, who will run and catch their way toward impressing NFL scouts.
The Buckeyes will also show off their top-tier backfield in projected-Top-10 pick QB Dwayne Haskins and talented running back Mike Weber. Linemen Michael Jordan and Isaiah Prince, who helped to keep the jersey clean for Haskins and open running lanes for Weber, will also participate at the NFL Combine.
With two projected-Top-10 picks in Bosa and Haskins, the Buckeyes will have a chance to prove that they continue to be at the top of NFL-producing college football teams. Although Bosa only played three games this past season, he is still very much Scarlet and Gray, and will show off his many talents at the NFL Combine.
Haskins will try to build on his Top-10 status, with only a single full season under his belt as a starter. Both Bosa and Haskins are prime examples of Urban Meyer’s ability to mold his players to become NFL-ready in a very short amount of time.

However, it is not only about the 10 Buckeyes who will be participating at the Combine who will be affected by the upcoming drills at Lucas Oil Stadium. This will be a chance for the participants to not only prove themselves but also strengthen the credibility of the Ohio State football program.
With a successful Combine, the players who are not locks for the Top-10 (like Bosa and Haskins) will have a chance to move up in the draft come April. The better draft picks for Buckeyes, the more impressive Ohio State looks for the recruits that Ryan Day will try to sign.
What happens next weekend in Indianapolis will not only build draft stock for the players participating. Combined with a successful NFL Draft in April, the performance of 10 players could in fact impact the stock of the Ohio State football program.
