Ohio State Basketball: Bucks move up in Week 14 Big Ten power rankings
Ohio State narrowly came out of their home match up with a win against Penn State. If not for a couple of miscues late by the Nittany Lions, we could be having a completely different discussion as to where this team is at right now.
But the Buckeyes were able to get the 4-point home win and with that moved to 5-6 on the season. Luther Muhammed led the way with 20 points including going 8/8 from the free throw line.
Ohio State was then able to secure a huge road win at Indiana on Sunday. The Buckeyes needed a wild C.J. Jackson three pointer and a Andre Wesson slam to secure the 4 point victory but were able to walk out of Bloomington with their 3rd straight win.
Along with that game securing dunk Andre Wesson would also lead the team with 17 points in the victory. Ohio State moves on to play a hot Illinois team and Michigan State in week 15.
Minnesota fell for the second time in a row on Wednesday as they were not able to overcome a streaking Wisconsin Badger team and fell 56-51. The Gophers were absolutely abysmal from beyond the arc shooting just 7% from long-range.
Senior Jordan Murphy continued his rebounding at a torrid rate grabbing 19 in the loss. Minnesota’s third loss in row would come via a Michigan State team that had lost 3 games in a row prior to the meeting.
Freshman guard Gabe Kalscheur put up 17 points for the Gophers in the loss. Minnesota will try to get back to winning way in week 15 against Nebraska and Indiana.
