Ohio State Basketball: Week 12 Big Ten power rankings
Matt Painter has his Purdue squad rolling in January like everyone thought they would in the non conference season. After a devastating loss to Michigan State in Lansing a couple of weeks ago the Boilermakers got their revenge blowing the Spartans off the floor from the jump and leading them by 22 in the second half.
Purdue was paced by Senior guard Ryan Kline who scored 17 points on 5 threes. With a win over both Michigan State and a 13 point victory over Ohio State earlier in the week, the Boilermakers are enjoying a 5 game winning streak in the Big Ten and are only 1.5 games behind in the regular season conference race.
Wisconsin’s season has been the definition of an up and down season. The Badgers started out great in non-conference and in the early two Big Ten conference games going 9-2 in their first 11 games of the season.
Then they hit a rough patch, losing four out of their next five games, the first one being a horrible loss to Western Kentucky. Now, behind a stellar season from Ethan Happ, Wisconsin seems to have reeled it back in as they have now won 3 games in a row including handing Michigan their only loss of the season.
Week 12 warranted wins over Illinois and Northwestern. Wisconsin looks to continue this mid-season surge in week 13 with a match up against Nebraska on Tuesday, and Maryland Friday.
