Maryland has been the surprise so far as they came into Big Ten play with experts unsure how the Terrapins would do because of a lackluster non-conference schedule. Well, they have well exceeded expectations so far and continued their strong season with a blowout 82-67 win over Minnesota on Tuesday and a close 78-75 win over 22nd ranked Indiana on Friday.

The Terrapins have been led this season by exceptional play from the back court in Junior guard Anthony Cowan Jr., who averages just under 18 points a game. Also from the front court as Sophomore Bruno Fernando averages 14.6 points per game and 9.9 rebounds a game.

Indiana lost a close game to Maryland on Friday, one that they led most of the game but just didn’t make enough plays in the end to come out with the road win. Romeo Langford had a solid game scoring 28 points in the loss, but the Hoosiers will need a better performance from the rest of the team if they wish to get back to their winning ways.
