Week 10 was rough for many teams in the Big Ten, including the Ohio State basketball team. It was also a week where the two best teams in the conference kept making separation and everyone else below them fought to stay within striking distance.

This is the week 10 edition of the Big Ten basketball power rankings.

  1. Michigan | 17-0 (6-0)
  2. Michigan State | 15-2 (6-0)
  3. Maryland | 13-3 (5-1)
  4. Indiana | 12-4 (3-2)
  5. Iowa  | 14-3 (3-3)
  6. Minnesota | 13-3 (3-2)
  7. Purdue | 10-6 (3-2)
  8. Ohio State | 13-4 (2-3)
  9. Wisconsin |11-5 (3-2)
  10. Nebraska | 12-4 (2-3)
  11. Northwestern | 10-7 (1-5)
  12. Rutgers | 8-7 (1-4)
  13. Penn State | 7-10 | (0-6)
  14. Illinois | 4-12 (0-5)

Michigan more than halfway through the regular season, has not suffered a loss yet this season. While we assume it is going to be tough to go undefeated in such a deep conference, we also assume that it is going to be very tough for any Big Ten team to beat the Wolverines.

That being said week 10 was a mild week for Michigan with victories over Illinois and Northwestern. Week 11 should be interesting as the Wolverines travel to Madison, Wisconsin, but at this point I would be shocked to see Michigan lose that game.

Michigan State continues their tear through the Big Ten conference and it is only right to assume that the Spartans and Wolverines are on a collision course for a huge match up between the two in-state squads. Michigan State continued their dominance this past week with wins over Purdue and Penn State.

The Spartans are now 6-0 and showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.
