Last weekend Ezekiel Elliott and Joey Bosa led their teams to playoff wins. Teams without former Ohio State football players on the roster were 0-3.
Former Ohio State football players Ezekiel Elliott shined in week one of the NFL playoffs. Three teams without Buckeyes on their rosters, the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears, saw their seasons come to an end.
Zeke was too much for the Seattle Seahawks to handle last Saturday as he carried the ball 26 times for 137 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 4 passes for 32 yards out of the backfield.
The Dallas Cowboys have been on a roll since head coach Jason Garrett started feeding Zeke the ball more often late in the season. Gee, what a surprise?
Joey Bosa was more impactful in the Los Angeles Chargers win over the Baltimore Ravens than his 1 sack, 2 tackles and 2 quarterback hits would indicate. He was often used inside and the attention he garnered allowed players on the edge to pressure Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson.
For the game the Chargers had 7 sacks, 8 tackles for loss and 10 quarterback hits. Jackson was constantly scrambling away from pressure and as a result only completed 14 of 29 passes for 194 yards and much of his success came after Los Angeles had built a 23-3 lead.
There will be plenty of former Ohio State football players on the field this weekend with the Kansas City Chiefs, who had a bye last week, being the only team left with none on the roster.
