Skill position players on the Ohio State football team have put up big numbers so far and three will total at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage this season.

With the outstanding season quarterback Dwayne Haskins has had throwing the football it’s no surprise a receiver on the Ohio State football team would be on pace for a 1,000 yard receiving season. Parris Campbell is the guy who should reach that mark.

However, with the issues in the running game for much of the season it is a bit surprising both J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber will probably both will have 1,000 yards from scrimmage.

Dobbins already has reached that mark and Weber is on pace to do so.

Dobbins should also have his second straight 1,000 yard rushing season. And with a good two game stretch Weber could have over 1,000 yards on the ground as well.

Since the Buckeyes are guaranteed at least one game after the Big Ten Championship Game I’ll project the players’ totals over two more games. It could be three if they make the playoff.

Dobbins has 961 rushing yards on the season and 198 receiving to total 1.159 yards from scrimmage. If he stays on this pace he will end up with 1,121 yards rushing and 1,352 yards from scrimmage.

More from Ohio State Football

Weber has registered 890 yards in total offense with 807 coming on the ground. That projects to 1,038 yards from scrimmage and 941 rushing yards. However, he has rushed for more than 193 yards in consecutive games three times this year so a 1,000 yard rushing season isn’t out of the question.

Campbell has 903 yards receiving and rushed for another 24. He is on pace for 1,053 receiving yards and is a virtual lock to have 1,000 yards in total yardage because he hasn’t had a two game stretch this season where he didn’t gain at least 73 yards from scrimmage.

Another receiver has a chance at achieving the 1,000 yard mark, albeit he is a long shot to do so. K.J. Hill has 823 yards receiving, off the pace to hit the mark. However, Hill has had a couple of two game stretches this season when he had at least 173 receiving yards.

dark. Next. Our predictions for the Big Ten Championship Game

The numbers Ohio State players are putting up this season are quite amazing. Just think, Dwayne Haskins is going to shatter most Big Ten single season passing records and three of his buddies are going to gain at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage. And who knows, there may be a fourth.
