Ohio State Football: Will Buckeyes stay in attack mode?
Buckeye fans have been waiting for the Ohio State football team to play in attack mode and they weren’t disappointed in the win over Michigan.
Michigan came into “The Game” ranked No. 4 in the country and had been playing well so it would be understandable if Ohio State began the game playing conservative. Instead, the Buckeyes came out in attack mode. Will we see more of the same on Saturday?
Michigan received the opening kickoff and the Ohio State defensive players came out of the gate with their hair on fire. The Buckeyes held the Wolverines to a three and out and then the fun began.
Dwayne Haskins sliced and diced the No. 1 pass defense in the country on the first drive. His 24 yard touchdown pass to Chris Olave gave the Buckeyes a 7-0 lead.
That was just the beginning as Haskins threw for 396 yards and 6 touchdowns on the day.

The running game took a little while to get going against the stout Michigan front seven but Urban Meyer and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson stuck with it. Attacking the top defense in the country resulted in Ohio State piling up 171 yards on the ground and averaging 4.8 yards per carry.
The Buckeyes were in attack mode on special teams as well. In the third quarter the Buckeyes went after a Wolverine punt and true freshmen stepped up to made big plays. Wide receiver Olave blocked the punt and Sevyn Banks scooped the ball up and took it in for a score.
The Ohio State offense kept the hammer down the entire game and the defense did until the fourth quarter. At that point the Buckeyes had a big lead and it was just a matter of keeping the Wolverine offense from scoring quickly and getting back in the game.
The Buckeyes were extremely aggressive in every phase of the game last Saturday, and fans wonder why that hasn’t been the case all season. Will there be a repeat performance against the Northwestern Wildcats? If so, it could result in another impressive win in the Big Ten Championship Game and Ohio State might be playoff bound.
