Since the biggest Ohio State football game of the year will be played tomorrow I wanted to get a Michigan expert’s thoughts about “The Game”.

Before any important Ohio State football game I like to find out what fans of the opposing team are thinking. I reached out to Chris Peterson, our FanSided expert at GBM Wolverine , and he was gracious enough to take the time to answer a few questions about “The Game”.

Nobody follows “that team up north” more closely than Chris so I think you will find his perspective very interesting.

Q:  Are Michigan fans confident this is the year the Ohio State winning streak ends?

Chris:  I think Michigan fans are confident but that confidence is shaky. I think they know this is a really good team, yet that doesn’t always mean much in this rivalry. The game is also on the road. I think Michigan fans will be worried until it actually happens. Then they will believe it.

Q:  What are the things Michigan will bring to the game that will cause problems for Ohio State?

Chris:  I think the Wolverines running game will challenge Ohio State along with their receivers and tight ends. Michigan doesn’t get credit but it has some good skill guys. Shea Patterson has big guys who can run. On top of that, the defense and more specifically, the pass rush.

Q:  Are there areas of concern for the Wolverines entering the game?

Chris:  Michigan has the best pass defense in the country but there has to be concern facing an offense like Ohio State and a quarterback like Dwayne Haskins. Michigan sometimes gets too aggressive and Ohio State will get some chances to take advantage.

Q:  What fears Michigan fans most about the Buckeyes?

Chris:  Ohio State and its ability to throw the ball. Plus Urban Meyer. As long as he is the coach the Buckeyes will he tough to beat. And I worry about a win for the gipper attitude.

Q:  What scares them the least?

Chris:  The Buckeyes running game.

Q:  I have three nieces, a nephew and a sister-in-law who live close to East Lansing but one of them is a Michigan fan. Can you give the reasons why my niece should be confident she will like the outcome of Saturday’s game?

Chris:  Michigan has maybe its best team in 20 years and unlike the last few years, Michigan has a quarterback and has proven it can run the ball against good teams.

Q:  How do you see the game playing out and what do you predict the final score will be?

Chris:  I think it will be close. Ohio State will score and get the lead early, but Michigan is tougher and will wear down the Buckeyes as the game goes along. UM also has a QB that can deliver late. Michigan wins 27-20.
