The Ohio State basketball team will take on the Creighton Bluejays in Omaha as the Buckeyes attempt to begin the season 3-0.

Coming off of a 107-61 win against Fort Wayne on Sunday, Ohio State travels to Omaha tonight to face the Creighton Bluejays. Both teams come into tonight’s game with a 2-0 record with both of Creighton’s wins being close.

Ohio State had a great opening night win against Cincinnati in the Bearcats’ new facility.

The Buckeyes’ defense has been the bright spot so far this year, letting up only 56 points to Cincinnati and 61 to Fort Wayne. Creighton lost their two best players from last year in Marcus Foster and Khryi Thomas, who were their best scorers.

It will be interesting to see how the new look offense of the Bluejays matches up against the Buckeyes’ stellar defense.

More from Ohio State Basketball

For Ohio State, there are still questions on the offensive side of the ball. C.J. Jackson is the only player they can count on to get a bucket if need be. Even then, at times Jackson can be inconsistent on the offensive side.

Against Fort Wayne, Ohio State’s best shooter Duane Washington Jr. (freshman guard), went for 20 points. He will be the best shooter for the Buckeyes this year and should be a great complimentary player to C.J. Jackson who had 25 on Sunday.

Keyshawn Woods has been a great veteran player for us, leading the Buckeyes on the defensive side of the ball along with Kaleb Wesson. Wesson needs to become more of a force down low on offense though.

The Buckeyes have to do a better job of giving him the ball on the block, so tonight look for the Buckeyes to force the ball to Wesson to get him started early.

Heading into tonight’s game, look for Ohio State to play great defense and transition that into some easy baskets down on the other end. Jackson, Washington, Wesson and Woods will be the keys tonight as far as scoring.
