4. Notre Dame

Ranking Last Week: 3

Week 10 Result: Win @ Northwestern 31-21

Upcoming Week: Home vs. Florida State

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish seem to have slowed their roll a little bit after they looked almost unstoppable for a couple of weeks. This past week they were able to get a 31-21 win over an underrated Northwestern team but it wasn’t exactly easy.

The game was tied 7-7 going into halftime but the Irish scored the first 14 points of the second half and the Wildcats were never able to come back. Notre Dame was led by quarterback Ian Book who threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns as well as receiver Chase Claypool who racked up 130 yards on 8 receptions.

Notre Dame looks to put a beat down on an underwhelming Florida State team in week 11.

3. Michigan

Ranking Last Week: 4

Week 10 Result: Win vs. Penn State 42-7

Upcoming Week: Away @ Rutgers

As a Buckeye fan, it hurts to say the Wolverines are a top 3 team but it’s the truth. They proved it to me after a dominating home win over a Nittany Lion team that our beloved Buckeyes struggled with for most of the contest.

Penn State was shut out for the first three quarters which shows just how good the Michigan defense has been this season. The Nittany Lions were only able to garner 186 total yards and just 68 on the ground.

The offense has looked better and better each week for the Wolverines as well with Shea Patterson making a decent showing. But it was Karan Higdon that stole the show on Saturday as he ran for 132 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Michigan gets Rutgers next week which should be a sure win as the Scarlet Knights are the bottom feeders in the Big Ten.
