The Ohio State football team has let me down in my picks against the spread lately, so since the Buckeyes had a bye I thought I would have a winning record in week 9. I was wrong.

I have missed my picks against the spread on four straight Ohio State football games so I needed a break just like the Buckeyes did. I thought since they had a bye I would get back on track and pick over half of the games correctly last week.

Nope, I finished 2-3 and now my season record is 35-29-2.

This is the time of the year when I switch from the AP Poll to the CFP rankings. There are exciting games involving top 10 teams this week so let’s get to them.

Point spreads are from Bovada.

Alabama (1) by 14.5 over (3) LSU: I know Alabama has a great team but I can’t believe the point spread, especially since it will be played at Death Valley. This game will be a war. I’ll take LSU and the points.

Clemson (2) by 39 over Louisville: Clemson is terrific and Louisville stinks but 39 points is too much to give. I’ll take the Cardinals and the points.

Notre Dame (4) by 9.5 over Northwestern: Upset alert, Northwestern is a pesky team and playing well. Once again I’ll take the underdog and the points.

Michigan (5) by 10.5 over Penn State (14): Michigan is rolling and Penn State isn’t. Since the Wolverines are at home I’ll take them and give the points.

Georgia (6) by 9,5 over Kentucky (9): Mark Stoops has done a terrific job as head coach of Kentucky but his Wildcats are overrated. I’ll take the Bulldogs and lay the points.

Oklahoma (7) by 13.5 over Texas Tech: Texas Tech won’t be able to stop Kyler Murray so I’ll take Oklahoma to cover.

Washington State (8) by 10 over California: This shouldn’t even be a game if Washington State is really a top ten team. I’ll take the Cougars and give the points.

Ohio State (10) by 18 over Nebraska: The Buckeyes are going to come out with their hair on fire after constantly being reminded of their loss to the Boilermakers. They cover easily.

Urban Meyer to the Browns, why not?. dark. Next

There you have it, my picks against the spread of games involving top 10 teams. I’m certain I will get back on track and break my losing streak.
