The Ohio State football was off this week but still moved up three spots in this weeks AP Poll. A couple of SEC teams are in the top 25 with three losses.

Ohio State (8) and Washington State (10) moved into the top 10. The loss to Georgia dropped Florida in the rankings and Texas fell out of the top 10 by losing to Oklahoma State.

The only two teams ranked in the top 25 with three losses are from the SEC. Is anybody surprised?

Mississippi State is ranked No. 21 at 5-3 and Texas A&M is at No. 25 with the same record. The SEC also has seven teams ranked and that’s about what most of us have come to expect.

The Big Ten and ACC each have four teams ranked and the Big 12 has three. The American Conference, Pac 12 and Mountain West each have two teams ranked in the top 25. Of course Notre Dame is an Independent.

Here is the AP top 25 Poll – Week 10:

1.  Alabama
2.  Clemson
3.  Notre Dame
4.  LSU
5.  Michigan
6.  Georgia
7.  Oklahoma
8.  Ohio State
9.  UCF
10. Washington State
11. Kentucky
12. West Virginia
13. Florida
14. Penn State
15. Texas
16. Utah
17. Houston
18. Utah State
19. Iowa
20. Fresno State
21. Mississippi State

The first College Football Playoff Poll will be coming out soon and often it is similar to the AP Poll. Here are a few observations if the committee members are thinking along the lines of the AP voters.

First, the SEC is a virtual lock once again to have a team in the final four, and possibly two. Even if Alabama were to get upset by LSU they would probably be included along with the conference champion.

It seems like Notre Dame is close to being a lock to make the playoff. The Irish have an easy schedule from here on in and of course don’t have to play a conference championship game.

If Boston College can’t defeat Clemson no other ACC team will so they are in.

Next. Who’s up, who’s down in the Big Ten after week 9. dark

Well there you have it, the AP Poll Week 10. The November stretch drive is about to begin and upsets may happen so things could change and soon.
