Not only did I pick the Ohio State football game wrong last week I missed on the other two favorites I picked on upset Saturday.

For the third straight week the Ohio State football team let me down by not covering the spread. They certainly weren’t the only favorites that didn’t.

In fact, if I would have only picked underdogs I would have been 8-0-1 for the week. Alabama defeated Missouri 39-10 and the 29 point margin of victory matched the point spread I had and the other favorites failed to cover.

I still had a 5-3-1 record for the week and I am 31-21-2 for the year.

Well, let’s see if I can stay on the winning track with my week 8 picks. There are only seven games involving top 10 teams this week. Point spreads are from Bovada.

Alabama (1) by 29 over Tennessee:  This one again should be an easy win for Alabama but whether quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is healthy or Jalen Hurts runs the show. I just don’t like the spread so I’ll take Tennessee and the points.

Ohio State (2) by 13 over Purdue:  This could be a dangerous road game especially since the Buckeyes have taken the first halves off lately. I’ll still take Ohio State to cover but I don’t feel very comfortable doing so.

Clemson (3) by 17 over NC State (16):  I have a feeling NC State is going to come out on fire and possibly make things difficult for freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence. I don’t know if the Wolfpack can pull off the upset but I think it could be a hard-fought game. I’ll take NC State and the points.

LSU (5) by 6.5 over (22) Mississippi State:  The Tigers may have a bit of a hangover early coming off the big win last week but I think they will recover and win by at least a touchdown. I’ll take LSU and give the points.

Michigan (6) by 7 over Michigan State (24):  I honestly don’t know who wins this game so I’ll take the Spartans and the points.

Oklahoma (9) by 8 over TCU: This is another tough game to pick. Since Oklahoma is playing on the road I’ll take TCU and the points.

Central Florida (10) by 22 over East Carolina:  I think Central Florida will try to prove the top 10 ranking is deserved and win easily. I’ll take UCF and give the points.
