Ohio State Football: Week 8 CFP Power Rankings
6. LSU
Right after falling mightily in all polls due to a surprising loss to Florida, LSU is right back in the thick of the national conversation after a decisive home win over Georgia last week.
Former Ohio State backup quarterback Joe Burrow has been playing well for the Tigers, throwing for 1,415 yards on the season along with 6 touchdowns compared to 2 interceptions.
All in all, Burrow has been doing enough without making mistakes for a run heavy offense to impose its will against opposing defenses. Burrow has made the Tigers more of a two-dimensional team and that is something that the Tigers have not had in a while.
That rushing offense is a huge reason that they are where they are this season as they rank 30th in the nation in rushing offense at 205 rushing yards per game.
Last week LSU out rushed Georgia 275-113, a big reason for the huge victory over the formerly second ranked team in the nation.
LSU gets to stay home next week to play a 23rd ranked Mississippi State team in yet another big test for the Tigers.
