The Ohio State football team failed to cover the spread against the Indiana Hoosiers which kept me from having a winning week picking against the spread.

After a 5-5 record last week I am now 26-18-1 picking against the spread for the season. If the Ohio State football team would have covered the spread last week like I predicted them to I would have been over 60 percent with my season picks.

I did take Florida and the points and put out an upset alert. The Texas upset over Oklahoma helped me out too because I took the Longhorns and the points.

Now for a look at picks against the spread for games involving top 10 teams in week 7. Point spreads by Bovada.

Alabama (1) by 29 over Missouri:  I don’t like this spread. Missouri’s two losses were by 14 points to Georgia and by 2 to South Carolina. I’ll take the Tigers and the points.

Georgia (2) by 7 over LSU (13):  This is a tough one. Winning in Baton Rouge is always difficult and LSU is coming off a tough loss. I’ll take the Tigers and the points.

Ohio State (3) by 31 over Minnesota:  I don’t think Minnesota has the firepower to score many points and won’t be able to slow down the high-powered Ohio State offense. I pick the Buckeyes to cover.

Notre Dame (5) by 22 over Pittsburgh:  I like Notre Dame but not the spread so I’ll take Pittsburgh and the points.

West Virginia (6) by 7 over Iowa State:  The Cyclones are better than some may think and are playing at home. I’ll take Iowa State and the points.

Washington (7) by 3 over Oregon (17):  I don’t know who wins this game so I’ll take Oregon and the points.

Penn State  (8) by 13.5 over Michigan State:  I think this may be a battle so I’ll take the Spartans and the points.

Texas (9) by 14 over Baylor: I don’t think Texas will have a letdown after the big win last week. I think the Longhorns will roll and cover.

Central Florida (10) by 6 over Memphis:  The Knights will want to prove they belong in the top 10 and cover easily.

Next. Predictions for week 7 game vs. Minnesota. dark

I picked a lot of underdogs this week which sometimes is the case as the season progresses. I hope I was correct in doing so and can get back on the winning track.
