I certainly enjoyed seeing the Ohio State football team pull off the comeback victory in Happy Valley last Saturday. But why didn’t the Buckeyes cover the spread like I predicted they would?

For the season I am now 21-13-1 picking against the spread of games involving top ten teams in the AP Poll. If the Ohio State football team would have cooperated two of the last three weeks and covered the spread like I thought they would my record would be even better.

Oh well, at least the Buckeyes are 5-0.

There are interesting matchups this week between ranked teams which could affect conference races and the College Football Playoff picture.

Here we go with my picks against the spread week 6. Point spreads from Bovada.

Alabama (1) by 36 over Arkansas:  Alabama is strong and Arkansas is anything but. However, this is a road game for the Tide and I don’t like this big spread. I’ll take the Razorbacks and the points.

Georgia (2) by 26 over Vanderbilt:  I will take the Bulldogs to cover at home.

Ohio State (3) by 27 over Indiana:  Indiana gave up 35 points to Michigan State at home so I expect Ohio State to score 50 in The Shoe. I’ll take the Buckeyes and give the points.

Clemson (4) by 20 over Wake Forest: With Clemson’s quarterback issues I don’t think they will win by three touchdowns on the road. I’ll take Wake and the points.

LSU (5) by 3 over Florida (22):  Upset alert. Since the game will be played in The Swamp, I’ll take the Gators and the points.

Notre Dame (6) by 7 over Virginia Tech (24):  Notre Dame is on a roll but this game is in Blacksburg so I’ll take Virginia Tech and the points.

Oklahoma (7) by 7.5 over Texas (19):  I like Oklahoma but not the spread so I’ll take Texas and the points.

Auburn (8) by 4 over Mississippi State:  It’s a road game but I think Auburn will cover.

West Virginia (9) by 28 over Kansas:  Kansas isn’t good and has to travel cross-country. West Virginia has an outstanding QB and is on a roll. I’ll take the Mountaineers to cover.

Washington (10) by 21.5 over UCLA:  I’m not sold on Washington and this is a road game. I’ll take UCLA and the points.

There you have it, my week 6 picks against the spread. Do you think I will keep my winning percentage at 60 percent or above?
