The Ohio State football team didn’t cover the spread like I thought they would last Saturday but that certainly wasn’t the only game I missed on.

I knew I should have quit picking against the spread of games involving top 10 teams when I was 8-0 after week two. Last week wasn’t so hot as I only picked 3 of 9 games correctly.

There are interesting spreads this week of games involving teams ranked in the AP top 10. Also, there is a key matchup in the Pac 12.

Let’s see if i can get back on track with this week’s picks. Even though Penn State is tied for No. 10 with Washington they played on Friday. I only make picks for Saturday games when big boys play.

Point spreads are from Bovada.

Alabama (1) by 26 over Texas A&M (22): Man that’s a big spread and my first inclination was to take A&M and the points. However, Alabama is playing at home and on a roll so I’ll take the Tide and give the points.

Georgia (2) by 15.5 over Missouri: I think Georgia will win but I don’t like the spread. Missouri has scored at least 40 points in all three games and are playing at home. I’ll take the Tigers and the points.

Clemson (3) by 16.5 over Georgia Tech: The Georgia Tech option gives everybody fits and I think it will be a close game. I’ll take Tech and the points.

Ohio State (4) by 38 over Tulane: Ohio State defeated Oregon State by 46 points and Rutgers by 49 and I’m not sure Tulane would beat either. I’ll take the Buckeyes and give the points.

Oklahoma (5) by 31 over Army: Service academies usually give ranked teams a difficult time so I’ll take Army and the points.

LSU (6) by 20 over Louisiana Tech: This game should be a blowout so I’ll take the Tigers and give the points.

Stanford (7) by 2.5 over Oregon (20): Upset alert. I’ll take Oregon at home and the points.

Notre Dame (8) by 7 over Wake Forest: This shouldn’t be a game so I’ll take Notre Dame and lay the points.

Auburn (9) by 30.5 over Arkansas: Auburn will be mad and Arkansas is lousy. I have the Tigers covering.

Washington (10) by 18 over Arizona State: I don’t think the Cougars will cover.

dark. Next. Dual threat QB not the best option

There are my picks against the spread of games involving top ten teams for week 4. I hope I can get back on track this week.
