Ohio State Football: Vegas Makes Buckeyes Big Favorites vs TCU

The Ohio State football team faces its first big test in Dallas next Saturday against the 2-0 TCU Horned Frogs. Despite matching up against its first ranked opponent, the Buckeyes are favored by nearly two touchdowns.

Las Vegas thinks the Ohio State football team will win their first real test of the 2018 season, and win big.

Bovada has Ohio State as 13.5 point favorite against the 15th ranked TCU Horned Frogs at a “neutral site” game in Dallas. TCU enters the game having defeated FCS opponent Southern University and in-state rival SMU in its first two games.

Ohio State has dominated lesser Power 5 competition at home.

TCU is just 1-4 against the spread in its last 5 games, while Ohio State has gone 4-1. The Buckeyes have also gone over the projected over-under number in 9 of the last 13 contests.

Some analysts already believe the line is too tight.

SB Nation’s Bud Elliott listed the Bucks at -12 as one of his bets of the week, writing that TCU is unlikely to hold up on the line of scrimmage — and that, despite the Texas location, Ohio State fans are likely show up in droves to neutralize that advantage.

The questions surrounding Ohio State early in the season have mostly been answered in the positive. Urban Meyer’s absence on the sidelines does not seem to have had an adverse effect on the squad’s performance, as Ryan Day has proved more than an adequate replacement.

New starting QB Dwayne Haskins has set the world on fire , albeit against less than stellar competition. The Buckeye defense also performed much better in week two than they did against Oregon State.
