Players are well aware of things that have been said about the Ohio State football program and Urban Meyer. Don’t you think they may be angry?
When I first started following football a half-century ago, the Oakland Raider defense was known as the ‘Eleven Angry Men’. When the Ohio State football team takes the field tomorrow, the Oregon State Beavers will face eleven angry young men, on each side of the ball.
The situation concerning the Ohio State football program the last month has been widely reported and commented on. Any player with a TV, radio or access to any form of social media knows the things that have been said about the university they love, and Urban Meyer the head coach they are extremely fond of.
Don’t you think the Buckeyes are really ticked off at the moment?

I’m sure Oregon State players and coaches wanted the media to lay off Ohio State and Urban Meyer. The Beavers had enough to deal with if the Buckeyes came into the game in a good mood.
They knew they had to face the best receiving corps in the country tomorrow, and now Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon and others would love nothing better than to score on a few long touchdown passes from Dwayne Haskins.
Two 1,000 rushers, J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber will be running behind a revamped line with players in a bad mood trying to prove themselves.
On defense, it certainly won’t be a good situation for the Beavers with the Buckeyes playing angry.
First, defensive end Nick Bosa plays angry when he is in a good mood. And the Ohio State defensive line will be one of the best in the country this season. I would hate to be the Oregon State quarterback tomorrow with these players in a bad mood.
The back seven are extremely talented as well. Linebackers will be wanting to drill anybody with the ball in their hands and ball-hawking corners will want to pick off a pass and take it to the house.
It would have been a long shot for Oregon State to pull out a win tomorrow even without the turmoil surrounding the Ohio State football program. Now the Beavers will face ‘Eleven Angry Men’ on each side of the ball. I doubt that is what Oregon players and coaches were hoping for.
