November

Ohio State hosts Nebraska to kickoff the last month of the regular season.  The last two games against the Buckeyes have not gone well for the Cornhuskers, but new coach Scott Frost should have this team playing more competitively.

On November 11 the team heads North to play Michigan State.  Urban Meyer is 3-0 in East Lansing and he finally had a dominating win against arch nemesis Mark Dantonio last year beating the Spartans 48-3.

Something tells me this year won’t be the same.  Michigan State plays well at home.  I would put the chances at 95-percent that this will be a night game and played in poor conditions.

The Buckeyes travel to Maryland the following week in their final tune up before playing Michigan.

I expect a closer game than the last two years, especially since it is sandwiched between two emotionally charged games.

More from Ohio State Football

They will win, but I doubt they will hang 62 points like they did in their last trip to College Park unless Maryland’s defense is worse than it was last year.

It is year four for Jim Harbaugh and he has little to show for it except cheap talk, recruiting gimmicks and fun trips abroad.  Is there any reason to expect better results this year?

If you believe in Shea Patterson, the answer is a resounding yes.  The transfer from Mississippi has the Wolverine faithful excited that the missing piece of the puzzle is finally on the team.

I tend to agree that Patterson gives Michigan a better chance to finally win the East, but the Wolverines’ schedule is brutal.  They play Wisconsin, Michigan State and Penn State in consecutive weeks.

They get their bye before Penn State which helps, but getting through that stretch will be difficult.

They will be playing for pride when they walk into the Horseshoe.  That could be dangerous except Ohio State will be playing for a playoff berth.  Make it four-straight losses to the Buckeyes for Harbaugh.
