Vegas came out with the over-under for every Big Ten team and it’s no surprise Ohio State is projected to be at the top according to the numbers.

Even though the college football season is months away Vegas has come out with the over-under betting for Big Ten teams. Do any of you want to bet against the Ohio State football team winning at least 11 regular season games?

I sure wouldn’t.

The Buckeyes have the highest over-under in the conference at 10.5 wins. Last year was the first time they only won 10 regular season games with Urban Meyer at the helm. With the firepower on offense, and the talented young players on defense, expect at least 11 victories for Ohio State before post-season play.

Here is what the over-under regular season wins is for each Big Ten team per SportsLine

  • Ohio State  10.5
  • Wisconsin  10
  • Penn State  9.5
  • Michigan State  8.5
  • Michigan  8.5
  • Northwestern  7.5
  • Iowa  7,5
  • Minnesota  6
  • Nebraska  5.5
  • Indiana  5.5
  • Purdue  5
  • Maryland  4.5
  • Rutgers  4
  • Illinois  3.5

Let’s take a look at the rest of the Big Ten East.

Can Penn State win at least 10 regular season games without Saquon Barkley running the football? As the author of the article Josh Nagel reminded us, quarterback Trace McSorley won’t have tight end Mike Gesicki and wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton to throw the ball to as well. I will take the under.

Mark Dantonio has Michigan State back on track so count on the Spartans to win 9 games, at least.

As far as Michigan goes, who knows? Will quarterback Shea Patterson lead the Wolverines to 9 wins before losing to the Buckeyes in “The Game”?

As far as the rest of the teams in the East, they will have to win non-division games to hit the over. I actually like the direction the Maryland, Rutgers and Indiana programs are heading but they can’t yet compete with the big four teams in the division.

One team will probably beat up on the other two and hit the over but I wouldn’t lay money on which one it will be.

In the Big Ten West, Wisconsin shouldn’t have a problem winning 11 games. I like Nebraska and Purdue to become bowl eligible so I would take the over on each team.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have won at least 8 games only 3 times in the last 8 years. I don’t like the trend so I will take the under.

I wouldn’t take the over or under with Northwestern. I think Pat Fitzgerald does a terrific job with what he has to work with but you know at least half of the Wildcats’ games will be decided by a touchdown or less. You just never know if they will win or lose those games.

Minnesota is about where they should be do no bet here. As far as Illinois is concerned, does anybody even follow their football program anymore? If someone out there does, I would like to hear if you think the Illini can win 4 games.

Next: 2018 Buckeye offense a blast from the past?

There, you have my take on the over-under for Big Ten teams. The one prediction I am most confident with is the Buckeyes winning 11 regular season games. I don’t see them failing to hit that mark two years in a row.
