Ohio State Football: Big time players decide to return
Big day for Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.
Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon and Dre’Mont Jones all announced today they will return to the Ohio State football program for one more year posting their intentions on twitter. That is certainly great news for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.
Many thought Campbell would opt to enter the NFL draft this spring. Now offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson will have one of the big time playmakers in college football at his disposal for one more season.
Campbell was having a fine season in 2017 until an injury sidelined him for a couple of games in the middle of the Big Ten schedule. He still finished with 39 receptions for 573 yards and three touchdowns. He added another 132 yards and a score on 10 carries.
Campbell was also on pace to have a better season returning kickoffs than in 2016 when he averaged 27.8 yards per return, but after his injury K.J. Hill took his place. Campbell still averaged 36.6 yards on 9 returns.

After battling injuries since high school, Johnnie Dixon finally had a breakout season. The speedster caught 18 passes for 424 yards (23.4 yards per reception) and 8 touchdowns.
Dixon has a knack for finding an open space between linebackers and safeties when they drop in zone coverage. Once he makes the catch it’s off to the races. He will definitely be an asset to whichever quarterback is running the Ohio State offense next season.
Dre’Mont Jones coming back for one more year is quite a pleasant surprise to say the least. Many draft experts had him ranked as one of the top five defensive tackle prospects this year if he chose to come out. Don’t you think coach Larry Johnson loves the fact Jones is coming back for one more season?

The hits just keep coming for Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. Not only does he have an outstanding recruiting class again this year, he has three established stars coming back for one more season.
