It could be a big night for Urban Meyer and his Ohio State recruiting class.

Tonight at the Under Armour All-America Game there will be four Buckeye recruits on the field. There will also be decisions made by two players that will affect the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class.

First a look at the two players who are said to be deciding between playing for Ohio State or Penn State tonight. Both are defensive ends, No. 4 ranked WDE Tyreke Smith and Jayson Oweh the 5th ranked SDE.

The Crystal ball predictions at 247Sports have Smith choosing the Buckeyes and Oweh playing for the Nittany Lions. Ohio State is in need of defensive ends in the recruiting class so hopefully at least one of them will be heading to Columbus to play his college ball.

The early signees who will be playing are linebacker Teradja Mitchell, running back Brian Snead, defensive back Sevyn Banks and offensive lineman Matthew Jones.

More from Scarlet and Game

With the limited playing time because of the many talented players at the Under Armour and Army All-America Bowls, often players don’t put up big stats. But usually you get a glimpse of their abilities showing what they may bring to the Buckeyes.

Possibly Mitchell will look like a ready-made middle linebacker like Raekwon McMillan was when he enrolled at Ohio State. Or Snead will show a burst of speed like Ezekiel Elliott did on his one catch in the Army All-American Bowl.

Possibly Banks will display the speed Gareon Conley did on punt coverage and Jones will knock guys around  like Mike Adams did in his All-America game.

Those are the things I find interesting because every player on the field is a top-tier recruit. When players like the ones I mentioned stand out, even for a play or two, you usually can expect big things from them down the road.
