Ohio State had the best front seven in the nation this year, no matter what anybody says about that. Although many people will look at the depth chart and see that most likely only one of the starters in that front seven will return next season, but the thing that made this group so dominant in the first place during the 2017 season was their depth.

Nick Bosa and Dre’Mont Jones will anchor that defensive line, and Tuf Borland could potentially have an All-American caliber season at middle linebacker for the Buckeyes. The remaining open spots on the defensive line fall on the shoulders of some unproven underclassmen. But don’t worry because they are all 4 and 5 star recruits who can replace the production brought by their predecessors.

Moving to the second level now expect Keandre Jones to fill a large role for the Buckeyes at outside linebacker. Jones will be able to make tackles from sideline to sideline and also cover tight ends, and even running backs in coverage. Malik Harrison brings a similar skill set and he could fill a large role as well depending on Dante Booker’s NFL Draft decision.
