The running backs in the Ohio State recruiting class may be the best group in the country.

Urban Meyer has to love the running backs in his Ohio State recruiting class. What coach wouldn’t want a top five RB, one who has ran a sub 4.4 in the 40 multiple times and the top all-purpose back in the country.

Urban has all three signed and sealed.

First a look at Brian Snead, the 5-11 200 pound running back from Seffner, Florida.

Snead is ranked the 4th best  running back and No. 83 player at any position according to the 247Sports Composite

In his last three varsity seasons Snead rushed for 3,449 yards and 48 touchdowns. He also had 49 receptions for 548 yards and 5 scores.

You can see why he was one of the most sought after backs in the nation.

Next let’s take a look at Master Teague from Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Not only is Teague one of the most underrated players in the Ohio State recruiting class but the entire country. If his overall player ranking is correct, there must be 219 outstanding players in the 2018 recruiting class.

Somehow after a 2,000 yard rushing season as a junior Teague was ranked as a 3 star recruit. It was only after he ran a sub 4.4 in the 40 at a camp last summer that he really began to get noticed. Of course that caught the attention of Urban Meyer, but he wanted to see that speed in person.

So Teague made the trip to Columbus to show the Buckeye head coach just how fast he was. Shortly afterwards a scholarship was offered, and accepted rather quickly.

At 5-11, 210 pounds Teague appears to have a college-ready body so he could see playing time as a true freshman.

Now for a look at Jaelen Gill, the 5 star All-Purpose back from Westerville, Ohio.

It’s difficult to find Jaelen Gill’s high school stats but these are the important things to know about him.

He is 6-1, 182 pounds, is the top ranked APB and the No 24 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite.

He was on Urban Meyer’s radar as a freshman and became one of the top targets in this year’s Ohio State recruiting class.

More from Scarlet and Game

Gill was invited to the Nike camp ‘The Opening’ last summer, and according to Barton Simmons of 247Sports was one of the top performers there. It’s quite an accomplishment to stand out among the outstanding players invited to the elite football camp.

It would appear that Urban Meyer envisions Gill to be his next great H-Back. However, he may be moved around at different positions early on like Curtis Samuel was just to get him on the field. He’s just too talented not to be used in some way.

Simply put, Gill is a player to keep your eye on.

Just think back to 2012 when Urban Meyer had still yet to have a 1,000 yard running back. Now that an Ohio State back has exceeded that mark each of the last five seasons, elite ball carriers are anxious to play in his system.

The three in this year’s class have to make up one of the top running back groups of any recruiting class in the country. And it quite possibly may be the best.
