Three Ohio State players named AP All-Americans.

The Associated Press announced their All-American team and it wasn’t a surprise three Ohio State Buckeyes were included. Time to plant more trees in Buckeye Grove.

Billy Price added to his long list of post-season awards by being named first team center. Cornerback Denzel Ward was also named to the first team and defensive end Nick Bosa second team.

First let’s get to the senior Billy Price. Just how many awards and honors is this guy going to win this year? It must be difficult to be such an overachiever, having to carry all of those plaques and trophies around.

Price was a first team All-American in 2016 at guard and now receives the same honor at center this year. He recently won the Rimington Award as the best center in the country as well.

He has received so many awards from his play on the football field, as well as several academic honors, I can’t keep track of them all. But once again congrats to the Buckeye captain for another honor, and I’m sure there will be more to come.

Denzel Ward lived up to the accolades his cornerback coach Kerry Coombs’ was throwing his way before the season began. He certainly deserved first team All-American honors with his play.

More from Scarlet and Game

This season Ward made 37 tackles, had 2 interceptions and 15 passes defended. I don’t know how they keep stats on passes defended, I just know Denzel blanketed whatever receiver he covered all year long.

Nick Bosa won the Smith-Brown award as the best defensive lineman in the Big Ten and has now been voted second team All-American by the AP. Quite an accomplishment for the sophomore considering he shares time at defensive end with other talented Buckeyes.

His stats were impressive this season, 32 tackles, 14.5 for loss and 7 sacks. But they don’t tell the whole story.

He was consistently blowing up running plays or chasing quarterbacks out of the pocket. Those things don’t show up in the stat sheet but teammates and coaches appreciate them.
