Ohio State Basketball: Bucks have a repeat performance vs. Wolverines?
How will Ohio State perform after big win over Wisconsin?
It’s been somewhat of an up and down season so far for the Ohio State men’s basketball team under coach Chris Holtmann. That was to be expected with the problems the program has had the last couple of years. Now it appears the new head coach has his team heading in the right direction.
The Buckeyes were clicking on all cylinders in their win over the Wisconsin Badgers. Will it be more of the same tonight when Ohio State hosts Michigan?
Saturday, Ohio State went into the Kohl Center, usually a difficult place to play, and dominated Wisconsin. The shooting percentages by the Buckeyes were simply off the chart.
For the season Ohio State has shot 47.6 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three point land. Versus Wisconsin, it was 31-47 (66 percent) overall and 7-13 (53.8 percent) from beyond the arc.
The win over the Badgers was impressive because the Buckeyes had a rough stretch leading up to the game. Ohio State had lost three of four including an overtime loss to Butler after blowing a big lead in regulation.

But that four game stretch may have been what the Buckeyes needed as it was against very good teams. Playing Gonzaga, Stanford, Butler and Clemson certainly helped prepare them for the Big Ten Schedule.
A win tonight and Ohio State will be 7-3 and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Then the Buckeyes should have a little break as they will have three very winnable games before facing North Carolina on December 23rd.
If the Buckeyes put on another good performance tonight it should give fans in Value City Arena reason for hope. The thing that’s been missing with Ohio State basketball since Aaron Craft left the building is consistent high energy play.

It’s hard to say if coach Chris Holtmann has the ship righted yet or not, but it appears he is on the right track. We may get more of an indication how well things are progressing tonight when the Buckeyes take on the Wolverines.
