This wide receiver would be a huge addition to the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class.

Welcome to Scarlet and Game! Today I will be evaluating elite wide receiver prospect Kamryn Babb from Christian Brothers College in St. Louis, Missouri. Babb is an elite wide receiver who is heavily considering Ohio State. In fact, 100% of experts from 247 Sports have projected him to commit to the Buckeyes.

If he does decide to play for the Bucks, it would obviously be a huge addition for the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class, as bringing in any player of his caliber would be. Now comes the biggest question; what would Babb bring to the Buckeyes? Well, he has the ability to turn any short catch into a  huge play (similar to Parris Campbell).

Babb brings an elite combination of athleticism and sure hands which is enough to give cornerbacks fits. In addition to these traits, Babb lined up in the Wildcat many times at Christian Brothers College which means that Urban Meyer could end up transitioning him into an H-Back, similar to what he has done with other players such as the aforementioned Parris Campbell.

With Babb’s versatility Urban Meyer would love see him in a Buckeye uniform. If he does commit to Ohio State, expect to see him lined up in many different formations, getting the ball in his hands in many different ways to utilize his explosiveness.

Now, if Babb were to commit when will he be able to see playing time and show off his talent? Well, assuming that none of Ohio State’s six wide receivers make a surprise announcement and declare for the NFL Draft, he will most likely redshirt next season as there just won’t be a spot for him.

The year after that, Johnnie Dixon, Parris Campbell, and Terry McLaurin will all be gone for sure. Quite possibly Binjimen Victor, KJ Hill and Austin Mack could be as well if they were to have breakout seasons, and many close to Ohio State football believe that could be the case.

But let’s say they all decide to stay, which would mean that during Babb’s redshirt freshman season he would see some playing time, more so in a backup role but in the mix if the Buckeyes choose to continue with a rotation of receivers.

Nonetheless, Kamryn Babb is an elite receiver with great potential. If he commits to the Bucks, he would not only be the best receiver in the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class but quite possibly one of the best on their roster as well.
