Ohio State stays at No. 6, only four Big Ten teams ranked.

With Michigan’s devastating loss at Happy Valley on Saturday the Wolverines dropped out of the AP Poll. Now the Ohio State vs. Penn State matchup will be for Big Ten East supremacy. It will be No. 2 versus No. 6 this Saturday in The Horseshoe.

But why did Michigan get dropped from the Top 25 but USC is still in? I’m definitely not a guy who will stick up for “That Team Up North”, but I will for the Big Ten when I feel it’s necessary to do so. And this is one of those times.

Michigan and USC were 5-1 entering the weekend. The Wolverines loss was to their rival the Michigan State Spartans 14-10. USC was defeated by Washington State who was stomped by California when they were a 30 point favorite.

On Saturday, Michigan lost 42-13 to No. 2 ranked Penn State who has been steamrolling most teams this season. USC lost to Notre Dame, ranked No. 13 in the country 49-14.

The Wolverines were dropped from the polls while losing by fewer points to a higher ranked team while the Trojans only fell 10 spots to 21. Just don’t understand the math on this one.

And for my SEC buddies out there who like to criticize me on social media, I have been pretty nice to you so far. But I want you to explain to me why LSU is ranked and Michigan isn’t.

Both teams have strong defenses but no offense. If they were to play each other, it could be a 10-9 game.

If someone were to put a gun to your head and said you had to bet 100 dollars on either Michigan or LSU, which team would you lay your money on? Myself, I would never bet one dollar on TTUN or any SEC team, other than possibly Alabama.

So if I was ever put in that situation, you SEC guys and gals would be happy as there would no more articles from me.

Anyway, here is the AP Poll for week 9.

Congrats to the Big 12 for having five ranked teams this week. The conference appears to be more balanced than it has been in recent years.
