Week 7 picks against the spread of games involving AP Top 10 teams.

My picks last week of games involving AP Top 10 teams weren’t very good. I was 4-6 which evened my record at 18-18.

I essentially whiffed on picks of teams ranked in the top 5. I certainly didn’t see the Iowa State upset of Oklahoma coming. Alabama played down to their competition and that surprised me a bit.

But I should have realized that sometimes a Nick Saban coached team appears to be bored when facing a weak team. Or they are just resting up to get ready for important games down the road.

As usual, this week I decided not to pick games played prior to Saturday’s slate. Thursday night games should be played by smaller conferences to help them gain exposure. And no college team should play on Friday, that is the night for High School players to shine.

Well, that’s my rant for today. Now to the picks of games involving AP Top 10 teams.

More from Scarlet and Game

(1) Alabama by 32 over Arkansas: It could be by 52 so I’ll take Bama and give the points.

(4) Georgia by 30 over Missouri: Can’t believe the spread, Missouri and the points.

(5) Washington by 17.5 over Arizona St.: In each of the last five games Washington has won by at least 27 points. I’ll take the Huskies and give the points.

(6) TCU by 7 over Kansas State: With the Wildcats playing at home I see a possible upset, so I’ll take the underdog to at least cover.

(7) Wisconsin by 17 over Purdue: I like Wisconsin but not the spread so I’ll take Purdue to cover.

(9) Ohio State by 24.5 over Nebraska: Another 50 point game by the Buckeyes? I have to take Ohio State and give the points.

(10) Auburn by 7.5 over LSU: Low scoring slugfest so I’ll take LSU to cover at home, and possibly win.

There are my picks for games involving Top 10 teams. I hope to get back on a winning track in week 7.
