The Big 12 race will also be interesting as there are five conference teams ranked in the top 25.

  • 7. Oklahoma
  • 10. Oklahoma State
  • 20. Kansas State
  • 22. West Virginia
  • 23. Texas

More from Scarlet and Game

Whether Oklahoma defeats Ohio State in week two or not, they could still make the College Football Playoff, but I don’t think it will be an easy task.

Kansas State is always a thorn in everyone’s side. West Virginia is unpredictable from game to game and who knows how well Texas will perform under first year head coach Tom Herman?

And watch out for my sleeper pick to make the playoff, Oklahoma State. It will be difficult to stop the Cowboy offense led by quarterback Mason Rudolph. He is extremely talented, has weapons at his disposal and he knows how to use them.

And this year’s shootout vs. Oklahoma will be played in Stillwater.

Well, the AP voters have spoken with their preseason poll, and I have too. Now as college football fans, we are within a few days from the time when we can just sit back and watch the action.
