ARLINGTON, TX – JANUARY 12: Head Coach Urban Meyer of the Ohio State Buckeyes looks on against the Oregon Ducks during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at AT

Ohio State

2016: 2nd in BIG Ten East

2017 Prediction: Buckeyes will win the East.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have possibly the most talented roster in all of college football, and without a doubt within the conference. With that going for them, the BIG Ten East is the Buckeye’s to lose going into the season.

More from Scarlet and Game

They have a squad that is beginning to show it could be one of the best Urban Meyer has put together, and I just don’t see it losing in the regular season. Led by senior QB JT Barrett, I see the offense exploding this year.

Paris Campbell has shown he can play the H-Back position, and if Mike Weber can stay healthy the backfield is going to be dangerous. And according to the coordinators both the offensive and defensive lines are shaping up to be unstoppable.

If that proves to be true, no one in the BIG Ten will take down the Bucks. I believe the power of the defensive line and the core group of linebackers will give the young secondary the help they need. That will help provide the defensive backs gain confidence as they grow together as a unit.

Ohio State has the talent and potential to win another national championship, and can do so if they play well throughout their conference schedule. After a week two match-up versus Oklahoma, Ohio State will have two tests left; Penn State and Michigan.

Wins in those two games would almost ensure a BIG Ten Championship Game appearance and line them up perfectly with a shot to get back to the playoff. Buckeye Nation is ready for the kickoff to the season, and just hopes Urban Meyer’s guys can take advantage of the chance they have this year.
