Will Buckeyes Collect 2017 Season’s Big Ten Offensive Awards?
Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year
Unlike running back and quarterback, the list of productive receivers back from last season is incredibly thin.
Nick Westbrook of Indiana is the top returning receiver. He is joined by Simmie Cobbs who sat out last season with an ankle injury. Cobbs finished 2015 with 1035 yards. This gives the Hoosiers a potent 1-2 punch. Either one is capable of winning the award.
Penn State’s DaeSean Hamilton took a backseat to Chris Godwin last year. He will re-emerge as McSorley’s favorite target making him a top candidate for best receiver. I expect him to get close to 1000-yards this year.
Darkhorses include Wisconsin’s Jazz Peavy, Northwestern’s Jalen Brown and Ohio State’s Parris Campbell.
Pick: Hamilton
