Ohio State Recruiting: Commits on ‘Annual Recruiting Trip’
It’s nice that the Nike people invite so many Ohio State commits to ‘The Opening’ so they can help Urban Meyer with recruiting.
Eight Ohio State commits have been invited to participate in ‘The Opening, the prestigious Nike camp in Oregon. That has become an annual recruiting trip for commits.
Recently, the Buckeyes have been well represented at The Opening. And while they are there, the players work hard to bring other top recruits to Columbus to play their college ball.
This year the commits have plenty going for them to persuade others to play for the Buckeyes. There is really something special going on with the 2018 recruiting class. It’s on pace to break the record for overall player average set by the ’17 Ohio State class, and could break Alabama’s streak of No. 1 recruiting classes.
You know the players who already are committed will attempt to make those two things happen. Those guys will be interacting with high priority Ohio State targets, competing with some and against others.
In each case, they will be making their sales pitch. Do you want to come play with us, or against us?
All of the Buckeye commits will be competing for the Vapor Speed team along with other players who Urban Meyer is targeting.
