2018 Ohio State Commit Compares Draft Picks of Buckeyes-Wolverines
One of the players committed to the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class compared the number of Buckeyes drafted versus the Wolverines. You have to love this guy already.
A 5 star safety committed to the 2018 Ohio State recruiting class, took to twitter yesterday and laid out what’s on the minds of so many elite high school football players. Can a team I’m interested in help me become an NFL player? And Jaiden Woodbey did it in a very colorful way if you are a Buckeye fan. An article by Bill Kurelic of 247 Sports brought it to my attention.
He compared the number of Ohio State players who were drafted by NFL teams the last 10 years versus the number from “that team up north”. He compared the number of first round picks as well.
Needless to say it wasn’t even close. Ohio State has had 57 players chosen since 2007 draft while Michigan has only had 34. The number of first round picks was 13 for the Buckeyes while the Wolverines had 4.
In the Urban Meyer era there have been four drafts so far with the fifth one coming up next month. Urban is leading 26-11 over Michigan and he is up 7-1 in first rounders. Think that doesn’t matter to a recruit?

I know that relationships with coaches, the university itself and a chance to win championships really do mean a lot to most recruits. But a highly ranked player has dreams of playing in the NFL as well. If a school, and coach, he really likes can get him there, that certainly can sway his decision where to play his college ball.
When there were 12 Buckeyes drafted last year, it certainly got the attention of every recruit who was considering playing for Ohio State. You heard it mentioned often by players as the 2017 class was forming.
This will be another good draft for the Buckeyes, potentially having three defensive backs chosen in the first round. That would be eight first round picks in two years, and recruits will certainly take notice.

Well, the 5 star safety Woodbey has been paying attention to what school turns out NFL players, and you have to love how he let everyone know about it. He got a dig on that team up north before he even starts defeating them on the football field.
