Ohio State Football: Changes on Offense Didn’t Take Long
The changes are fast and furious at Ohio State.
There has been a flurry of activity with coaching changes at Ohio State. It was first reported by “Horns Digest” that coach Tim Beck was leaving the Buckeyes to be the offensive coordinator at the University of Texas.
His position as quarterback coach/co-offensive coordinator has been filled by Ryan Day a former assistant coach in the NFL. It appears that former Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson will soon be joining Urban Meyer’s coaching staff as well.
Ohio State confirmed that Beck has left to pursue other opportunities but I have yet to find verification he has been hired by Texas. Day’s hiring has been confirmed by the University but Wilson coming to the Buckeyes has been widely reported but not yet confirmed at the time of this writing.

It remains to be seen exactly what roles Wilson and Ed Warinner will fill, and offensive line coach Greg Studrawa as well. New NCAA rules allow teams to have one more full time coach on staff come April, so if Wilson does come on board it doesn’t mean another coach has to leave.
One thing is for sure, the Buckeye offense is going to experience big changes, and quickly. The Fiesta Bowl debacle was the first time an Urban Meyer coached team has been shut out and I don’t expect it will happen again anytime soon.

I’ll bring some info about how these two coaching hires could affect the Ohio State offense later. The two will bring a lot to the table and may just be what the Buckeyes need at the moment.
