Week 6- Rutgers
The No. 13 Buckeyes would return home the following week to play the other new team in the Big Ten in Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights were not a powerful football program, but did well enough in their first year of Big Ten play to finish in the middle of the East division.
Urban Meyer and Buckeye Nation were both impressed with yet another strong Ohio State offensive performance. It was the first time in Ohio State football history that the Buckeyes scored 50 points in four straight games.
Barrett threw for 261 yards, but was also the team’s leading rusher with 107.
“Do I think we’re top 10? I don’t really watch other teams, but I think we’re playing at a pretty high level right now,” said Meyer after the game. The Buckeyes won 56-17.
