Running back Darvon Hubbard decommitted yesterday but there are other ball carriers on Ryan Day’s radar who could join the 2020 Ohio State recruiting class.

Although the 2020 Ohio State recruiting class dropped in the rankings when running back Darvon Hubbard decommitted yesterday it’s still in great shape. The class is still ranked in the top 10 and coach Ryan Day has his sights on other running back prospects who may be interested in joining it.

When it comes to Ohio State recruiting I pay attention to anything Bill Kurelic of 247Sports has to say. Here are RB targets he mentioned in a recent article and their rankings in the 247Sports Composite.

Mr. Kurelic also reported that Robinson’s teammate, safety Lathan Ransom, is high on the Buckeyes and is visiting this weekend, and that Milton has family in Ohio. Landing one of these top 10 backs would certainly be a boom, but Trayanum is a very intriguing prospect in his own right.

After looking at last year’s stats reported by Scouting Ohio, com it’s obvious he is an outstanding player on both sides of the ball.

120+ tackles, 14 sacks, 20+ tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, 5 pass breakups and 1 interception shows why Trayanum is a highly coveted linebacker. With 120 carries for 850 yards and 13 touchdowns you can see he has the potential to become an excellent college running back.

He reminds me of Ohio State safety Brendon White who was a terrific football player in high school but there were questions about which side of the ball he would play on in college. Steele Chambers in this year’s recruiting class was another who fit that mold, but by everything I have read he will at least begin his Buckeye career at running back.

One thing is for certain, Trayanum would bring a linebacker’s mentality to the running back position.

As you can see Ohio State has the highest player average but a small class so far. Now that spring football is almost here, expect plenty of recruiting visits to be coming soon and the 2020 class beginning to fill up.
