The Ohio State football team still has the best recruiting class in the country. They have plenty of five-star recruits in the class and still have a lot of talent coming in. Tavien St. Clair, who is the number-two recruit in the country, headlines the class.

You would think based on the last 12 hours or so that Michigan has the best recruiting class in the country. Michigan fans are celebrating after flipping the top recruit in the country, Bryce Underwood. This happened after Underwood seemed to deny he was going to flip from LSU.

Fans of the Buckeyes were initially shocked at this development. As I mentioned, Underwood only denied TTUN a week ago. That's the power of NIL though. Underwood got a lot of money to flip. Ohio State football fans shouldn't be worried about this recent recruiting win for a few reasons.

Reasons why Ohio State football fans shouldn't care about Michigan's recruiting win

The Buckeyes could still end up having the best quarterback in the class. St. Clair could still be better than Underwood. While Underwood will likely start right away, St. Clair will likely have the better players to throw to. The receivers the Buckeyes have for the next few years are absurd.

Also, Michigan is still terrible. They are just 5-5 this season. They are firmly average, and adding Underwood to that roster won't make them significantly better. TTUN certainly won't be better than the Ohio State Buckeyes next season. Ohio State's 2025 class is still much deeper.

Yes, Michigan found a deep NIL pocket to help them land Underwood. That part isn't great. That also means that Ohio State football fans will have to step up and help increase NIL funds to make sure the Buckeyes' recruiting classes continue to be great in the future.
