The Buckeyes will have a lot of new starters next season, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Ohio State is getting ready to start spring workouts, and it's right around the corner. So when do the Buckeyes officially start spring practice?
The Ohio State football team starts spring ball on March 10
Ohio State starts spring practice on March 10. That is when the team gets back on the field and starts to prepare for the 2026 season. There are more than a few new Buckeyes who have something to prove when practice starts. Ryan Day understands he has to make sure the team doesn't fizzle out at the end of the year again.
After starting out 12-0 in 2025, the Buckeyes lost their last two games. Part of that was because Day was likely starting to call plays on offense. Brian Hartline had decided to head to USF to become a head coach for the first time. Day's play-calling was a problem.
March is when Ohio State football fans can start getting excited about next year's team. They are still looking for a new starting right guard and for a couple of wide receivers to step up. Defensively, there will be several newcomers. It will certainly be an interesting spring for the Buckeyes.
