The Ohio State football team lost one single game on the road this season. It was in Oregon in October. It was a game that they could have won, but they fell just one point short. The Buckeyes have been a much different team since that game, especially on defense.
Defensively, it was by far the worst game that the Ohio State Buckeyes played all season. It was a game that forced them to rebuild their entire defense. After that game, no team scored 20 points against the Buckeyes, including their first opponent in the College Football Playoff.
Now, Ohio State gets the only undefeated team left in the country in a rematch. The Buckeyes know exactly what they are getting from the Ducks. But Oregon has gotten better as well since that game in October. They are going to have to deal with a team that is clicking on all cylinders on offense.
The Ohio State football team will get a great offensive game from the Ducks
Will Howard had his best game as a Buckeye against Tennessee, but Dillon Gabriel has been playing well all season long for the Ducks. His last game was a masterclass as well, tearing up Penn State with 283 yards and four touchdown passes. Oregon scored 45 points against the Nittany Lions.
Even though Ohio State's defense is different from the last time they faced this team, Oregon will still get very creative with their offensive play-calling. They are going to make sure that the Buckeyes are off balance and can't just focus on taking down one aspect of their offense.
On defense, the Ducks are going to do their best to stop Ohio State's receivers on the outside. Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka are hard to handle, so that might not happen. This game could end up being a shootout with the last team who gets the ball having a chance to win, just like last time.
It's going to be a great game. The Buckeyes have to stay aggressive like they were against the Vols.
