The Ohio State football team took down Ohio last weekend, 37-9. It was a game that they probably should have won by more, but they kept stalling out in the red zone. Still, it was a solid win before their first bye week of the season and before they start Big Ten play.
During the game, Ohio State's defense played well once again. They didn't let Ohio quarterback Parker Navarro run the ball very much, which was something that was a concern heading into the game. It seemed that Navarro was getting frustrated during the game.
That frustration seemed to come to a head when Navarro was trying to take down Kenyatta Jackson, when he picked up a loose ball that was eventually called an incomplete pass. Navarro tried to make a dirty play on him that was circulated on social media over the next few days.
Parker Navarro tried to have a dirty take down of Ohio State football player Kenyatta Jackson
On a play that Arvell Reese knocked down the ball, Jackson picked it up, in case it was going to be ruled a fumble. Navarro then tried to kick Jackson in order to make a tackle. Take a look at the clip below for his dirty tackle attempt.

Under no circumstances should anyone try to kick someone like that in order to make the tackle. Had the play not been ruled an incompletion, and had Navarro actually made contact, that would have been a 15-yard penalty for tripping. That was completely uncalled for.
The Ohio State Buckeyes clearly were frustrating him to the point that he was trying to hurt someone on the field, but that's not okay. He's just lucky that another Buckeye didn't come over and try to make a statement by hitting him hard. Had that happened, Navarro could have been hurt.
In the end, nothing ended up happening. That is probably the best for all involved, so the Buckeyes are fine. Now, they will head into the bye week with some things to work on before they start Big Ten play against Washington a couple of weeks from now. Ohio will continue its season, as well.
Let's hope that there isn't another instance of a player from another team trying to take down an Ohio State player in a dirty way. Hopefully, everything will be above board in the rest of the games they play.
