One of the perks of winning the national championship is getting to visit the White House. It's certainly a great honor for any championship-winning team, no matter who the President is. The Ohio State football team took their visit to Washington D.C. on Monday.
The Buckeyes visited a lot of spots in D.C. while they were celebrating their win. They wanted to soak up everything that they could while they were in town. Getting to be in the White House and visiting with the President of the United States is not something everyone can say that they did.
One of the moments that they were there for was the ceremonial picture with both President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. While they were standing there, Vice President Vance tried to pick up the national championship trophy. It did not quite go as he planned.
Vice President Vance almost fumbles Ohio State's national championship trophy
President JD Vance clearly was not sure how to pick up the trophy because he almost dropped it. Take a look at his attempt to hoist it up.

TreVeyon Henderson had to keep Vance from dropping the trophy on the ground. That would have been a disaster if that had ended up happening. That shows what good hands Henderson has because he was able to quickly jump into action to make sure nothing bad happened.
Honestly, this is a bad trophy. The crystal ball that they used when the BCS was still around was the ideal trophy. It was clean, and it was very easy to celebrate with. The Buckeyes loved celebrating with that after the 2002 national championship that they won with Jim Tressel.
This was still a nice moment for the Ohio State Buckeyes. One more celebration of the championship now that Spring practice has ended is good for this team.
