Vegas oddsmakers usually love the Ohio State football program. They are one of the best college football teams year in and year out, so they typically get a lot of action. Still, the sportsbooks are in the business of making money, so they have to set fair odds.

It seems that those in Vegas love the Buckeyes once again this year. Coming off a national championship, Ohio State is trying to become the first team to repeat as champs since Georgia did it in 2021 and 2022. While they lost a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, they still have Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs to help them.

Those two players, along with the other great players they have, seem to influence the odds that Vegas has set for how well they think the Ohio State Buckeyes will do this season. In fact, the Buckeyes have the highest win total of any team in the country.

The Ohio State football team has the highest odds to win the national championship

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, no team has a higher win total than Ohio State. Their win total is set at 10.5. Only three other programs have that listed win total at the moment. Penn State, Oregon, and Notre Dame are the other schools with that high of a win total.

Despite those other programs having the same high win total, Ohio State has the highest odds to win the national title in the country. They are +600 to win it all, tied with Texas for that honor. Those two teams are widely expected to be preseason top three teams in the polls.

While the Buckeyes still don't know who their quarterback will be for the season, they still have a lot of talent on offense. The talent around him is why so many believe that the Buckeyes have an excellent chance to win the national championship again this year.

These odds will likely change before the season starts in the Fall, but Ohio State's odds likely won't change too much. They might be the outright favorites to win it all by that point.
