Former Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Urban Meyer didn't immediately have an answer when asked if OSU would beat the Indiana Hoosiers if/when the two teams met. It almost even sounded like he answered IU.

Meyer mentioned that Ohio State had the better players, which, on paper, is an indisputable fact, perhaps putting the heat on the Buckeyes' coaching staff for potentially losing to Curt Cignetti's program.

“Ohio State has better players at the end of the day. And that’s not a disrespect to IU at all. Just watching the NFL Draft, Ohio State, it’s going to be ridiculous again.” Meyer said on the "Triple Option" podcast. “So at the end of the day, they got it right. Does that mean Ohio State will beat Indiana? No, I mean I don’t know man, IU does not make mistakes.”

To be fair to Meyer, not many have been able to eloquently explain the Buckeyes and Hoosiers' gap between the two of them, or both of them and the No. 3 TAMU Aggies

Joel Klatt spoke in levels of completeness to explain the gap between the Big Ten teams and the lone SEC unbeaten.

Mack Rhoades tried to speak about play at the line of scrimmage to justify his College Football Playoff Selection Committee's first rankings release.

It's a legitimately entertaining hypothetical that looks almost certain to become a reality on December 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Logic dictates it'd be a home game for the Hoosiers, and it just might be. But Buckeye fans always travel well, and the last time they won a proper title was 2019. This is a team with the potential to run the table, and beating Indiana, possibly for the first time, would be an emotional peak only second to beating TTUN on such a streak.

Soon enough, this talking point will reach a boiling point on the field, barring a catastrophic loss for either team in the regular season's final four weeks. And when that happens, the question of whether IU is truly at the top of the sport will be definitively answered.
